First created in 1990 to commemorate the heroic Spitfire aircraft flown during the Battle of Britain, this classic English ale has become one of the brewery’s most recognisable beers. Tasting Note

Deep amber-gold in colour with a clear appearance, Spitfire Kentish Ale offers inviting aromas of toffee, biscuit malt, dried fruit, and subtle earthy hops. The palate is smooth and well-rounded, revealing flavours of caramel, toasted bread, orange marmalade, and gentle spice, balanced by a refreshing hop bitterness. The finish is clean, satisfying, and lingering, leaving notes of malt sweetness, fruit, and delicate hop character.

Food Pairing

Pairs beautifully with traditional British dishes such as roast beef, steak and ale pie, and sausages with mash, where its malt richness complements hearty savoury flavours. It also works exceptionally well alongside mature cheddar, Stilton, and ploughman’s lunches, enhancing both creamy and salty elements. For dessert, enjoy it with sticky toffee pudding, fruit cake, or apple crumble, allowing the ale’s caramel and dried fruit notes to complement the sweetness of the dish.
